PUBLICATIONS

ARTBUZZ, THE 2009 COLLECTION January 2009:  Jennifer's work was accepted into Artbuzz, The 2009 Collection, a juried visual arts showcase featuring artists from around the world.  Jennifer's work also won their first prize for watercolour.

WATERCOLOUR ARTIST January, 2008:  Watercolor Artist has featured Jennifer's painting "Diocletian's Palace" in their "Winner's Circle,"  a collection of watercolour award winners from across North America.  The painting won the A.J. Casson Medal from the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour in 2006. 

THE ARTIST'S MAGAZINE Jennifer's painting "Broken Angel" was chosen from over 10,000 entries as a finalist by The Artist's Magazine in their 24th annual competition, and was selected as the cover for their 2008 calendar. 

SLATE MAGAZINE "Diocletian's Palace" chosen for the CSPWC's ad in Slate Magazine, Oct. 2006.

PARKHURST EXCHANGE Profile of Jennifer's work featured in Parkhurst Exchange, a Montreal medical journal.

AVENUE MAGAZINE In October, avenue, Edmonton's newest lifestyle magazine, profiled Jennifer in an article by Edmonton writer, Helen Metella.

INTERNATIONAL ARTIST MAGAZINE Featured in major article International Artist Magazine ” published in Issue 49, 2006.

NEW TRAIL “Spanish Staircase” published in University of Alberta’s New Trail magazine (spring 2004).

WATERCOLOR MAGAZINE Annesley's work was featured in a major article and on the cover of Watercolor Magazine, winter 2002 edition, a rare honour for a Canadian artist.

INTERNATIONAL ARTIST MAGAZINE has featured Jennifer's painting "Les Chaises" in the Canadian Master's showcase, Issue 20, (August/September 2001.)

PASTEL INTERNATIONAL Accepted to be featured in the Pastel International magazine (Jan., 2001)

AWARDS

ARTIST'S MAGAZINE AWARD September, 2009 - awarded at the 2009 CSPWC Open Water Exhibition held in Calgary, Alberta, for "Gothic Ivy"

CANADIAN BRUSHSTROKE MAGAZINE June, 2009 - Awarded the Grand Prize in the 2009 National Landscape Competition for "Mt Robson, North Face."

ARTBUZZ FIRST PRIZE January, 2009 - Jennifer was awarded the First Prize for Watercolour from ArtBuzz, the 2009 Collection, an international open competition

A.J. CASSON MEDAL Nov. 2006 - Awarded "A.J. Casson Medal," the hightest honour granted by the CSPWC, for "Diocletian's Palace." Jennifer was pleased to accept the award in Toronto on November 2nd at the John B. Aird Gallery.The City of Edmonton acknowledged the award in a protocol ceremony in December, 2006.

CURRY'S WINSOR NEWTON AWARD - Winner of the Curry's/Winsor Newton Award for Excellence at the C.S.P.W.C.'s 78th annual Open Water exhibition in Toronto, October 2003 for "Spanish Staircase."

JARVIS AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE Annesley's "Colloquy in Red" won the Jarvis Award for Excellence in Watercolour from the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour at their Open Water 76 Exhibition, Toronto."

Nominated for the Alberta Lieutenant Governor's Award for Excellence in the Arts, May 2005 and 2007.

Nominated for the City of Edmonton's Award for the Arts, June 2005.

Nominated for the Mayor's Award for Promotion in the Arts, 2007

PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD Winner of the 1995 People's Choice Award from the Medici Art Foundation.

  • Accepted into the 81st annual "Open Water 2006" Exhibition for the CSPWC: John B. Aird Gallery,Toronto, Oct. 31 - November 26, 2006
  • Juror for the Allied Arts Council annual Exhibition, Sept, 2006.
  • Juror for the Edmonton Arts Club annual Exhibition at Edmonton City Hall, April 21, 2006.
  • Selected for a national exhibition "Limitless Potential" celebrating the 80th anniversary of the CSPWC (touring across Canada 2005/2006).
  • Accepted the honour to serve a two-year term on a national jury to select new artists for membership in the CSPWC, 2005 and 2006.
  • Presented seminar on visual art to students at Victoria School of Performing and Visual Arts (May 2004).
  • The Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour selected Jennifer as one of six artists to represent Canada at the International Biennial Watercolour Exhibition in Mexico City, opening November 23, 2003 at the Museo Nacional De La Acuarela.
  • Featured artist at the Virginia Christopher Galleries for the 1999, 1997, and 2001 Calgary Artwalks.
  • Jennifer was accepted into the "Aim for Arts" international art exhibition and competition, hosted by the Federation of Canadian Artists in partnership with Aim Funds Management Inc. It was a juried, visual fine arts exhibition open to all living artists worldwide. Her painting entitled "Mount Stephen Hall" was one of 209 works chosen from 1340 entries from 33 countries. The accepted works were exhibited in October 2000 and are reproduced in a catalog available from the Federation.
  • Elected by jury into the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour on their 75th anniversary year, one of only two artists accepted this year from Alberta, and one of eleven in Canada. Jennifer will be receiving her diploma in November at the C.S.P.W.C. gala in Toronto. (May 2000)
  • In April 2000, Jennifer was accepted by jury into the Federation of Canadian Artists.
  • Featured artist at the Virginia Christopher Galleries for the 1999 and 1997 Calgary Artwalks.
  • Featured in CBC Television's "The Scene" hosted by Colin McLean in November, 1998.
