A complete portfolio of the 2007 paintings by Canadian Artist Jennifer Annesley BFA, CSPWC,
including the annual solo exhibition "Venezia" (November 2006, Fairmont Hotel Macdonald, Edmonton, Canada) commissions, and other works.
Forward:The majority of the 2006 paintings are informed by the artist's time spent in Venice, Italy. "Venice was for me the perfect place to explore a vast array of historic architecture from Romanesque to Neo-Classical, all set on the luminous labyrinth of water canals. The result is a seemingly endless variation of the effects of light and reflection, elements which are integral to my paintings. I started painting Venetian masks a few years before visiting the city, attracted to their innate mystery and beauty as objects. I was further inspired to see countless masks of varying designs and themes while in Venice, and consider them not simply as exquisite objects, but also as a symbol of Venetian intrigue, extravagance and elegance."
